Huffman family pictures 2012

Huffmans 2012

We had our friend Kensie take some family photos a few days ago. Being back in Texas at this particular time is pretty convenient with the mile stones each of our children are at. Elisha just turned four and Claire turns two next month! It's crazy to believe but we're enjoying every day of raising them (not that its always easy or "fun"). I couldn't be more nutty about them than I am today. What a joy to raise these two...

We originally had Kensie take photos since all of Bud's family was in town. His sister lives in North Carolina and was here for a quick visit. Might as well take some other shots while we're at it. Keepin it real...

Elisha and Claire with their Poppa and Nene...

And there's some other really great shots of this one but I just had to post the funny one....

That's right Claire, boys have cooties, even your brother. Don't ever forget that until you're like 20... or 30.

Our visit to the states has proven over and over again that it was perfect timing. We've gotten a lot accomplished, the best being family time and being refreshed. Sometimes you just don't realize what rest you need until you sit down right?

I've tried not to say much about our vacation part of this trip home. We had a winter and I know many of our precious missionary friends back in Kenya really miss winter and family. I can remember the tension in having Christmas in Kenya. Definitely more good than not but you can be torn in your heart on where you want to be. I love the simplicity it brings but it's just not the same. So I decided not to post hardly anything and pretty much nothing.

This week the majority of our time is spent on administration work for Mattaw. It's been good to get things accomplished! We are just waiting on a few things in order to mail out stuff to our sponsors and newsletter to our supporters. Hopefully I can figure out how to get the newsletter put on here electronically. We'll see if I'm that technologically inclined. (is that a word or did that even make sense?)

This weekend we are off to the big city. Going to the Dallas area to catch up with a few people, visit one of our supporting churches where I graduated high school and then fly out to Birmingham, Alabama. Very excited to connect with Servant Life and meet their staff. We'll just be there for a night and meet with the staff then fly back. If you are looking into coming over on a team this summer, you can check out their website: servantlife.com. But if you are not a youth or youth group leader, you can contact our Team Coordinator Scott: team.mattaw@yahoo.com for further questions. Looking forward to having over 100 people come through to serve and love the poor. There's a lot of excitement and hope looking at what year 2012 holds!

More updates.... Better take more advantage of this constant high speed Internet...
