To make it official...

Now that we have fast enough internet, we can call our parents and see them through video skype. It's pretty amazing! So a few weeks ago was my dad's birthday. Here's what we showed him on skype...

Of course Elisha was at the computer holding this but I wanted a picture of it today

In between the two plus signs is our sweet pea

Yesterday made 8 weeks exact! We went to the Dr. in Eldoret and got a scan. We were going to wait until next week but we had a visitor flying into Eldoret this morning at 8am so rather than get up early and drive to Eldoret we decided to go yesterday, see the Dr., and have a night to ourselves. Our visitor is from San Angelo. He's been in Mozambique for a few weeks and flew here from there. He will be here a week then join in with our team that comes in next week. So back to baby talk. We found out a couple of weeks ago that I was pregnant. Well, to be honest, it wasn't too much of a surprise although we were incredibly excited! When we came back in February I brought pregnancy clothes knowing we'd be here a year and a half and knew we wanted our children close in age. They'll be about 2 yrs and a few months apart. So when we found out we were going to make it this big secret and wait until September. Ha. Bud could of, I can't stand it. The week after we found out it was my dad's birthday so I talked Bud into letting me tell my parents. We were going to do something similar with telling Bud's parents over skype but they were out of town and Bud didn't want to wait. Then slowly we told our closest friends and family. Now it's out there! The baby is due March 12th. We will have the baby here in Kenya. Our first one, it was clear that the Lord wanted us in the states for that birth. For this one though we're at peace in being here. We feel pretty comfortable with having it at a private hospital in Eldoret. Eldoret is about an hour away from here. The Dr. is Dr. Mishra. She is from India. She delivered other missionary ladies that I know from around here. My friend Marlies from Holland had both of her babies there so she's very encouraging! Her first baby was c-section and second natural. Both deliveries went really well. I say this all because I know if brings comfort to the grandma's! This will be Bud's parent's second grandchild and my parent's 6th. A year from now we'll go home for 6 months so it'll be nice to not be pregnant most of it. It'll also be nice to have that time for friends and family to see the baby. As for me, I'm feeling alright. This week I've had horrible morning/afternoon/night sickness. It's nothing to complain about though, I'm growing a child! What a blessing. When Bud and I saw the baby on the screen and saw the heartbeat, we looked at each other with eyes wide open and a huge smile. Here we go again! Much more updates on this to come...

Created for this,
Kimberly
