Ezra HOME. Again.

Made it home!  Well, back to our Texas home.  We have a few places we would consider home on this earth but our eternal home, our home we fix our eyes on, where we can live from here, is heaven.  But very thankful to be back in this place with all three children healthy.

What a journey the past couple weeks have been.  Actually the past year.  Wow.  But the more heat turned up, the greater faith given to overcome and see breakthrough beyond what we could ever think or imagine.  Where we put our focus during a battle will often determine the outcome.  Where we gain victory, we are able to bring hope to others.  My hope through these past weeks is that I would come out knowing God more and being known more by Him.  I have never felt Papa God more closely to us than I have through the storms lately and I know it'll just get sweeter.  After all, it is a promise, to be with us wherever we are.  Mattew 28:20... " and lo, I am with you even to the end of the age."

I just read this quote, it spoke to me in where we've been...

"Knowing who we are in Christ is the difference between living defeated or walking in victory. There is no victory without a battle, so identity doesn't insure a life without warfare but it does determine who wins! Ultimately we need to keep in mind that we are in Christ, therefore we are fighting FROM victory, not for victory." -Kris Valloton

For sure there were times I didn't feel like saying another prayer, declaring another truth of scripture over Ezra, putting on another worship song.  A feeling shouldn't always determine a choice though.  There are times I just want to sleep.  Which there is a time for sleep.  Amen.  But there are times you want to sleep when you should be standing strong to your feet.  That's often when He brings the breakthrough.  There were some specific prayers answered through the past weeks.  I could write a small novel just on how God showed himself at work.  Because he's always at work even when we do not see it.  But all glory to God for the things we saw answered.  One of the biggest being we are home all together now.  Sometimes you just don't realize how much you love kissing your babies cheeks until they're covered with tubes and wires.

Still believing for a miracle for Ezra's heart.  As the song goes that we often sing in church in Kenya... "we serve a miracle working God, He's the alpha and omega, we serve a miracle working God.  You are my Papa hey hey, you are my Papa, hey.  God of miracles."

Once we got into a room and out of the ICU, I would sit with Ezra in the mornings, rocking him and having coffee.  The picture below was our last coffee date in the hospital.  Pretty dang cute.  But funny how you can take several pictures of a newborn and each one looks so different.  He usually doesn't make this face but sure is a cute one!  We have fun watching Ezra figure out how to learn to use his face muscles.

I posted the picture on Facebook with this caption:
" well mom I did like you said and fought like a boss. I just reached right up on my face in my sleep and yanked that tube out and kept on breathing strong. I mean, what's a nurse gonna do? Sit me in time out?"

Because he was down to 1/2 liter of oxygen and when they went to turn him down again, the nurse discovered he had pulled out his tube and the monitor didn't alert them because he was doing so well breathing without the oxygen.  Then he did awesome for 24 hours which is when we got to get outta there.  Little fighter he is.  Ha.  Oh and we also went home with no coughing, no congestion and we are not having to do breathing treatments!  Did I mention what a little fighter he is?!  Glory to God.  Because THAT was definitely God working through Ezra.

Will close with some encouraging WORD.  Love love love this passage from Ephesians 3...

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,[c] 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him beglory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
