I have to tell you guys about this random connection we made recently. Well I say random, but everything is really just Jesus directing paths together in a unique way.
On a side note, this is just like many things that happen within Mattaw. We walk by faith not by sight and really there's just no way to explain how things come together other than Jesus.
I like it that way!
So through someone else, I found this blog. I found encouragement through it from time to time on family and other stuff. Then once I clicked on it to find that she had been to Kenya and as a result the Lord was directing them to start a new ministry with the main focus reaching out to teen pregnant girls and ultimately saving lives. RANDOM!
So usually I don't comment on blogs (like many of YOU!) but just thought, why not. So many have been a help to us in starting Mattaw Children's Village and getting all the legal stuff in order. So I offered any info we had since she had mentioned it as a prayer request (i think that's how it happened).
I quickly heard back and from then on we've become friends through email. Totally weird to meet someone that has read all about you on your blog and you know nothing about them, but now the tables were turned and we got to go meet Kristen and her precious family who I had read all about. It was just ironic that they happened to live not far from by brother and his family. It was a blessing to meet them and see them walk through this new journey as a family in starting Mercy House. It's always great to meet people in the body of Christ who are not trying to build their own kingdom but see the whole picture that we are all in this together and help each other where we can. SO, let me just say, if you have a heart for helping teenage girls that are pregnant and found in the worst slums in Nairobi, Kenya, please go and check out Mercy House. They are opening this year and it would be great if you'd pray for them and maybe even give in any way you might be able to. They have some adorable items for sale (t-shrits, jewelry, etc.) and all proceeds go towards Mercy House.
